Wall Street Journal: mothers2mothers Helps HIV Positive Mothers Fight AIDS
Friday, December 26, 2014: Aid for Africa member mothers2mothers is featured in the Wall Street Journal for their work with HIV positive mothers who serve as mentors to HIV pregnant women and new mothers with the disease. The mentors by helping the HIV positive mothers feel less stigmatized are able to encourage them to receive antiretroviral drugs and help reduce transmission to their babies. Mothers2Mothers has nearly 1,100 “Mentor Mothers” employed in six sub-Saharan African countries and have reached more than 1.2 million HIV-positive women since 2001.
