The New Yorker: A Texas Philanthropist Helped Support the Invisible Children-Inspired Hunt for Joseph Kony
Monday, October 21, 2013: The hunt for Joseph Kony, warlord and leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army, was aided by the Austin-based Bridgeway Foundation–long-time funder of Aid for Africa member Invisible Children–which hired private military contractors to train African soldiers. Prior to the addition of US Special Operation troops to the hunt in late 2011, Bridgeway’s CEO Shannon Davis negotiated an arrangement that supplied military training that helped turn the tide in the hunt.
