Huffington Post: Charity:Water to Get Help From Tech Innovators To Inspire New Philanthropy
Thursday, December 27, 2012: The Huffington Post reports that Google’s $5 million Global Impact Award given to charity: water will be used to install sensors in 4,000 of its water wells across Africa. The sensors will send back real-time data on the water flow at each site and help ensure the sustainability of its water projects. The grant is part of a new wave of venture philanthropy which seeks to leverage technology for social change. Read more
