BBC: miraclefeet To Trial a Low-cost Easy-To-Wear Brace To Treat Children With Clubfoot
Saturday, July 4, 2015: Aid for Africa member miraclefeet is featured by the BBC for introducing a new brace in India that can treat children with club foot. A quarter of the 200,000 children worldwide who have the disease live in India. Club foot which results from the abnormal development of muscles, tendons and bones in the foot during pregnancy makes the foot twist downwards and inwards, making it difficult to walk. Braces help straighten the foot to the correct position but they are often difficult to put on and are uncomfortable to wear. The miraclefeet brace made of canvas instead of leather is intended to be more comfortable in hot climates than traditional braces and easier to put on. Read the full article.
