Donations Urgently Needed to Assist Victims of Flooding and Mudslides in Sierra Leone

Recent mudslides in Sierra Leone have killed hundreds and displaced thousands.

In West Africa’s  Sierra Leone, devastating floods have triggered mudslides that have left at least 200 people dead and 600 missing. More than 9,000 people have been injured or displaced.

Aid for Africa member Action Africa, based in Washington, DC, has been working on the ground with local partners in Sierra Leone for many years. With its partners in Sierra Leone, Action Africa is working to help survivors in and around Freetown.

Action Africa will ship a 40-foot container  with needed supplies to Sierra Leone before the end of August. Action Africa needs donations of canned and dry foods, over-the-counter medications, vitamin supplements, blankets and clothing.

Send donations to: Action Africa Inc., 2903 Mills Avenue, NE, Washington DC 20018.

These supplies will assist victims and needy families in and around Freetown. Action Africa also needs donations to help cover container shipping costs. Learn more about Action Africa at its website and on Aid for Africa’s website here.
