TIME:Great Ape Trust Scientist Named One of the 2011 TIME 100
Thursday, April 21, 2011: TIME names Great Ape Trust scientist, Dr. Sue Savage-Rumbaugh, one of the 2011 TIME 100, the magazine’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Dr. Savage-Rumbaugh, is an associate program director at the Trust in Des Moines, Iowa and the first and only scientist to conduct language research with bonobos. The Trust supports the conservation of and research on wild great apes and their habitats, provides sanctuary for captive great apes, and conducts voluntary, noninvasive research on ape cognition and intelligence.
