Washington Post: Aid for Africa Member Tostan Organizes Public Declaration Against Female Genital Cutting
Thursday, February 6, 2014: This week, in honor of the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Genital Mutilation, Aid for Africa member Tostan organized a second public declaration against the practice.
Tostan works with communities to help them complete an educational program in human rights. The organization notes that today’s public declaration is part of “large-scale social change” and the hope that the practice of female genital cutting will one day be abandoned all together. Read the article
