New York Times: President of American Leprosy Missions Excited About New Test To Detect Disease
Wednesday, February 20, 2013: A new simple and inexpensive test to detect leprosy can help those who have the disease from becoming disfigured and disabled. The test provides results in under 10 minutes, requires just one drop of blood and can detect symptoms a full year before they show. The earlier treatment begins, the better the outcome. “We’re definitely excited about this,” said American Leprosy Missions President Bill Simmons.
