New York Times: The Fistula Foundation Featured In Game Drawing Attention to Women’s Issues
Sunday, February 17, 2013: The New York Times mentions The Fistula Foundation as one of seven non-profits that will be featured in a new social media game to be released on March 3, 2013. The game, inspired by the book “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide,” will draw attention to women’s Issues and raise awareness of issues like female genital mutilation and child prostitution. Players who reach predesignated levels will unlock donations from Johnson & Johnson and Pearson who have agree to contribute $250,000 each to buy real-world operations from the Fistula Foundation and books for Room to Read, respectively.
