CNN: World Hope International Helps Sierra Leone With First Export Market Since Civil War Ended
Wednesday, June 29, 2011: Aid for Africa member World Hope International has set-up a 54-acre industrial park in Sierra Leone to process natural resources that might otherwise go unused for its first export market since its civil war ended nine years ago. It’s first tenant, African Felix Juice produces juice concentrate from mango and pineapple farmed throughout Sierra Leone. They pay farmers between $250-$300 for each tree planted and eventually plan to employ close to 100 Sierra Leoneans and provide a market for nearly 1,000 small farmers throughout the country.
