Uganda Christian University Partners

Uganda Christian University Partners supports Uganda Christian University through student scholarships as well as funds for university building projects, technical equipment, and the library.

The university’s mission is to prepare students for “thoughtful, productive lives of Christian faith and service in their respective professions and places.” The university is located in Mukono, Uganda, near the capital city of Kampala.

Since its founding in 1997, thousands of students have enrolled at the school to take courses in education, business, social development, and law. Currently, Uganda Partners provides some scholarships to 300 students mostly from Uganda and several from the Sudan, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Congo. The current annual enrollment is about 6,500 students.

Most of these students live in dormitories on campus, which are overcrowded and in need of expansion. The current library facilities, too, are inadequate. The students need a new library so they can read the textbooks they cannot afford themselves, and so they can use the Internet to pursue knowledge.

Uganda Partners is committed to helping to expand the campus and facilities in order to accommodate the growing enrollment, develop student and faculty exchange programs, and help to enhance the image of the university as an institution of quality education. We also plan to increase our scholarship offerings.
