Teach With Africa

Provides quality education to underserved African students through teaching exchange programs between Africa and the US for “best practices” teacher training, mentorship, and collaboration.

Teach With Africa works to reverse the shortage of teachers and teaching resources in underserved areas of South Africa through an innovative exchange program that sends U.S. educators to underserved schools in South Africa to teach and learn.

Educators teach classes, provide tutoring in core academic subjects (science, math and English), and implement student workshops designed to give learners quality time with experienced educators.  Teach With Africa partners innovative high schools that are trying to jump-start learning in underserved townships in South Africa. These high schools are known as LEAP Science and Maths Schools.

In addition to working directly with students, Teach With Africa educators partner with school faculty to share best practices on teaching methods, different learning styles, technology, and more.  Because LEAP Schools successfully incorporate social and emotional learning techniques into their teaching, U.S. educators return with a deeper awareness about empowering their own students.

Teach with Africa also helps South African LEAP graduates studying to become teachers come to the U.S. to observe best practices and share their history and social-emotional learning techniques with U.S. students.
