RISE International

Builds primary schools in rural Angola. After decades of war, it is estimated that between 513,000 and several million children are still not in school.

RISE International builds primary schools in rural Angola to educate children, empower communities, and contribute to the rebuilding of the country. RISE embraced a dream to impact Angola through education – one child, one classroom, one school at a time.

A 27 year civil war left a generation without education. In response, RISE has been working in partnership with the Angolan Ministry of Education, local administrations, community and church leaders, as well as local volunteers to help rebuild the broken educational system.

RISE believes that education is the driving force behind a strong economy and a key factor in a country’s social and economic growth and well-being. By building schools in remote and nearly inaccessible villages, RISE brings education to thousands of children who otherwise would not receive it. Since 2003, RISE has built 159 primary schools in rural Angola, which today serve more than 106,000 students each year.
