Education For All Children

Provides talented, disadvantaged Kenyan youth with high school and university scholarships, intensive mentoring, leadership and job training, enabling graduates to successfully enter Africa’s workforce.

image001More than 50 percent of Kenyan students are unable to continue their education beyond primary school. Education For All Children provides scholarships based on merit and need for the brightest and most vulnerable youth in Kenya to pursue secondary and post-secondary education.

But scholarships alone cannot help students rise from extreme poverty. We provide a comprehensive education-to-employment program that prepares students for successful careers by developing their leadership and life skills capabilities. Currently we provide eight years of education, skill-building workshops, service learning and intensive mentoring for 350 students throughout Kenya.

Education for All Children’s impact is reflected best in the accomplishments of our students. One is Tabitha, who grew up in a one-room hut with five siblings. She was raised by a single mother who sold vegetables to support her children. Selected as one of our scholars, Tabitha attended one of Kenya’s best high schools and benefitted from our programs that offer academic, social and career guidance. Today Tabitha is pursuing a degree in public health at a prestigious Kenyan university. She plans to return to her community after graduation to provide much-needed health services. In her words: “EFAC was my only chance in life. I can help change the lives of people around me because of this gift I’ve been given.”
