Bridge2Rwanda, Inc. is creating a fellowship of globally educated, future leaders of Africa who work together with purpose and commitment to their countries and each other.
Bridge2Rwanda’s scholars program identifies talented African high school graduates and prepares them to compete for scholarships in major universities around the world. What began as a program for Rwandan students has become a program that includes students from a number of African countries.
Students prepare to compete for and succeed in international universities at Bridge2Rwanda’s career center in Kigale, Rwanda. They are supported throughout their studies abroad to ensure success. Once a student receives acceptance to a university, Bridge2Rwanda connects the student to a host family, community activities, academic counselors, career advisors and internship opportunities. The students become ambassadors for Africa on their university campuses.
Bridge2Rwanda creates partnerships with potential employers, including businesses, nonprofit organizations, government institutions, and global corporations expanding in Africa. During summer months, the scholars return to Africa to undertake internships. Once students graduate, they return to Africa to begin their careers.
The first class of Bridge2Rwanda Rwandan scholars was launched in 2011. In 2014 students from South Sudan, Burundi, Liberia and the Democratic Republic of Congo joined the fellowship. Since 2012 more than 100 students have received four-year scholarships to more than 50 universities in five countries.
Bridge2Rwanda is classified as a 501(c)(3) organization. Click below to view our most recent independent audit and IRS Form 990.
